Congratulations are in order for Jazzschool Institute pianists Ruthie Dineen and Christian Sullivan who were awarded the prestigious Jamey Aebersold Scholarship at their final performances of the spring semester Friday evening May 4, and Sunday afternoon May 6, at the Jazzschool in Berkeley, California.

Established in honor of Jamey Aebersold, one of our country’s foremost leaders in jazz education, this award was given to these two pianists who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence in jazz study and performance for the duration of their tenure in the program.

Executive Director Susan Muscarella says “The Jazzschool Institute is tremendously indebted to world renowned jazz educator Jamey Aebersold for his generous support and belief in the mission of the program. These scholarships will be used to offset a portion of these two aspiring professionals’ tuition, contributing to realizing their respective artistic objectives.”
