Becca Stevens Voice Workshop

Vocalist Becca Stevens leads a workshop on group singing, individual expression and creative exploration. Singers, please come prepared with a song to sing and ideas to try out. Vocalists who also play an instrument should bring their instruments and plan on working with Becca on songs of any style. (A piano will be provided.) Original material is welcome and encouraged! Becca will also be performing at the Jazzschool on Saturday, April 14 at 8 pm.

New York-based singer/songwriter Becca Stevens has released two albums to wide acclaim, including her most recent CD, Weightless. Her tightly crafted and emotionally intimate songs evoke the expressive Appalachian folk music of her North Carolina roots. She is a graduate of the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York, where she
received her degree in jazz voice and composition and met the musicians who would
become the Becca Stevens Band. She has collaborated with pianists Brad Mehldau and
Taylor Eigsti and is the featured vocalist with Travis Sullivan’s Bjorkestra.
