The Incomplete

Students who have satisfactorily completed a substantial part of the coursework may request a temporary grade of Incomplete (‘I’) if they are unable to complete a course due to circumstances beyond their control. Requests must be made no later than the last class meeting and are granted at the discretion of the instruc- tor. Coursework must be completed prior to completion of the next consecutive semester to convert the grade of ‘I’ to a passing grade of ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’. Exceptions may be made with prior approval from the Dean and instructor. Coursework submitted after the deadline with- out prior approval will automatically result in a permanent grade of ‘I – F’ and will be averaged into students’ GPA as ‘F’. Students receiving a grade of ‘D’ or ‘F’ in a required course must re- take it at their own expense and receive a grade of ‘C’ or higher to graduate. Students receiving a grade of ‘D’ or ‘F’ in an elective course may retake the course at their own expense with prior approval from the Dean.
